Out to Sea

This is the second of the two cards I made for Sue's Techniques Swap that she is hosting on SCS.  I also made a card for the fancy folds category.  I went to a card class two weeks at a friends house and Deanne made this exact card.  I did not have the die at that time, but I do now.................  I love this card and all of the layers!.

My second technique card was posted on the 25th if you want to check back--it also is a design from a card at Deanne's class.....................

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope Sue and the others swappers like my card!

Alcohol Inks Background

This is one of the two cards I made for Sue's Techniques Swap that she is hosting on SCS.  I also made a card for the fancy folds category.  I went to a card class last week at a friends house and Deanne used alcohol inks on a card. I have not done that for a few years and I thought I would use it for the background on this card.  I used a red and blue ink along with a pearl mixative.   I like the look--what do you think?

My second technique card will be posted on the 28th if you want to check back--it also is a design from a card at Deanne's class.....................
I hope Sue and the others swappers like my card!

Rainbow Swap Card

This is the card that I made for Theresa's Rainbows and/or Unicorns Swap that she is hosting on SCS.  I do not have a rainbow stamp, so I took out a Kaleidacolor ink pad and found a stamp that fit perfectly over the five colors.  I also added some colorful polka dotted designer series paper and I think this fits the criteria!

Celebrating 29 again?!

This is my card for July's Monthly Challenge for the Creative Card Chicks.  This group is a kind of mystery image swap, where we each get an image and additional items to complete the challenge each month.  I am is the hostess this month and sent everyone this hilarious Art Impressions image, along with a few sentiments.

I colored the image with Copics and layered three ribbons--chevron on the button, then a white grosgrain, topped by baker's twine.  I also added baker's twine to the buttons in the corner.  And yes, I do celebrate 29 every year!

Members of the Creative Card Chicks to post our cards between the 21st and 23rd of each month--so if you check the blogs on my sidebars today or in the next few days, you may see more of these wonderful creations!  Paula is the hostess for August, and I am sure she has a fun image and challenge in mind for us!  Stay tuned!

Here is the inside of my card:

This was a fun kit and I hope the other Creative Card Chicks like my card.

Seashell Jar

Here is my card for our July mystery image group.  Vickie sent us this cute image of a jar of sea shells in sand.  Well--I had a thought to use some "sand" that I have had for years.  I bought it around the time of the Flower Soft craze and I think I have only used it once.  The idea and picture in my mind is 200% better than the one you see here....................  I really did try!  It looks like the jar has a moustache in my opinion!  But, I do love the image and I hope Vickie thinks I did an okay job too as I get to send it to her.

Next month, Jeanette is our hostess and I cannot wait to see what fun image she has picked out.  So--we all get to create another round of cute cards.

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope Vickie and the others in our group like my card.  I cannot wait to see all of the other creations!

This card is for a Mystery Swap on SCS. A group of us are doing a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same mystery image, sent to us by the hostess. This swap was created by Forest Ranger—Jeanette and we are now in our 35th round!  I am the hostess this month and sent everyone this cute image Whipper Snapper image.  I did not sent any sentiments, but others may have used one on their card.  I will swap the cards and send everyone the next image, which is being sent to me by Darlene.   We then get to do it all again!  I know you will all love the cards in the next round, so please come back in September and see what Darlene has sent us.

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope the other swappers like my card.  If you check my sidebar on the left, you might see some other swappers who have posted their cards.

Christmas in July Duel

It is the 15th of the month and that means we get to show off a new Dueling Darlings challenge. For the July Challenge, our leaders and founders--I hope that does not make them sound old................. Jeanette and Kelly, decided on the theme.  Jeanette is the leader of the Darlings and Kelly is a Diva, my team!

This the information Kelly sent us for this month's challenge:  The theme for your card kit this month is: Christmas in July! Jeanette and I decided not to go with a religious Christmas, and instead, we are going traditional. For the Divas, I've given it an extra spin and I'm calling it Whimsical Christmas in July!
Every year growing up, my brother and I would wait for the Charlie Brown specials to come on.  From the Great Pumpkin to the Charlie Brown Christmas, we'd be glued to the TV. I was lucky to get a few Snoopy stamps before they retired including this Snoopy's Christmas Doghouse, so I chose the papers, embellishments to go around Snoopy and his colorful doghouse Christmas lights.

I added some clear Wink of Stella Glitter on Snoopy's nose and on the lights to give them some sparkle.  I added some clear and white Wink of Stella on the snow below the doghouse too.

Kelly also added the following--please share in your post: what is the first thing you do each year to get in the Christmas spirit?

I start decorating the Sunday after Thanksgiving as we have had a cocktail party the first Saturday in December the last dozen years or so.  The boxes and bins of decorations and ornaments, along with the 15 or so artificial trees (2-9 feet tall--but only one is over 4 feet..............) come down from the storage area over the garage.  For a week, there are boxes and bins and bags and trees everywhere!  I also put Christmas music on, playing all of the older CD's that I have had for years--Anne Murray, Barbra Streisand, Garth Brooks, The Judds, Bing and Frank, along with others!

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope Kelly and the other Darlings enjoy my card.

This is one of the two cards I made for Lianna's Lawn Fawn swap on SCS. Yes, we are to use Lawn Farm stamps and I only had one set at the time I signed up. Under My Umbrella

It is time for another The Three Musketeers post. We are ready to showcase the card we all created with the image I provided this month for Card #22!  We have been doing this for close to three years now and it has been a blast! Kelly is up next for the August challenge and I already have the image!   Be sure to come back to see what we create!

For our card this month, I sent out one of the many Art Impressions stamps that I have.  I love these ladies--the ones on the image along with my team-mates, Kelly and Jeanette!!!!  I also included a couple of matching sentiments and I think the one I included on the inside of my card is perfect for The Three Musketeers!!!!!  I also covered that umbrella with clear glitter from my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen, that I received a bit ago from Jeanette.  I love that pen, though it is hard to see the sparkle of the rain drops on the picture.

Here is the inside of my card--I think both of these ladies are always under my umbrella!

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards!  They may post today, or it may be upcoming, so be sure to check out their blog for their card!

By The Tide

This is my card for the monthly themed swap that Terry is hosting on SCS.  Each month she will post a theme and we make cards using a Stampin' Up set that we believe follows that thought. This is our eighth month and the theme was "Life's a Beach".  So--last month I did not use a SU set and Terry was nice enough to say that is OK.  She now has edited the "rules" to say we can use another company if we want.  Well--this month, I am not sure my card follows the theme-but Terry said "fish live in the ocean, the ocean is at the beach, it is all good!  I had visions of fish "on" the beach and it was not a pretty sight or odor........................

I hope Terry and the others swappers like my card this month too!  I cannot wait to see what our theme is for August and that will post on the 10th.  AND--I promise to follow directions this time!

I need to give credit to this card to my demo Sarah--of Stinkin' Cute Cards--her blog link is here.  This card is from a card kit I bought awhile ago and I loved the card she designed!  I made a few minor changes, but this is Sarah's Creation!

I also got to use one of my new recent purchases.  I placed an order a few weeks ago with Dies by Dave and received the set Tide.  It makes the fussy cutting of the fish so much easier.  I also got the set that matches Lovely as a Tree and I am excited to use that one too!  I can see another order in the future as Dave said he is adding some new dies the end of this month...............
